Flowfile ships with standard building blocks. Community nodes are additional nodes kept in a public GitHub registry, separate from Flowfile itself. Anyone can add one: build it in the Node Designer, publish it from there, and it goes in for review. It doesn't wait for a Flowfile release. A node is available as soon as it's reviewed and gets updated on its own schedule, not Flowfile's. Once published, you install it from inside the app and it appears in the palette next to the built-in nodes.
Open Catalog → Community Nodes in the app, pick a node, click install. Before anything is added you see who made it, where the code lives, and what it can touch. Then it's in your palette.
The Node Designer lives inside Flowfile. Describe the settings your node needs, write the transform in Python, test it on real data, and it's a node like any other.
Publish from the Node Designer and Flowfile submits it for you. Every node is checked automatically and read by a person before it shows up here.

Grows each shape by a set distance, answering questions like 'which homes are within 500 m of a station?'. Measured on the ground, so it holds up far from the equator.

Adds the real ground distance between two places on each row, in kilometres, metres or miles. Works straight off latitude and longitude columns, with no setup.

Adds the area, length and centre point of every shape as ordinary columns, so you can sort, filter and total them. Measured on the ground, accurate at any latitude.

Tags each row with the area it falls inside - every customer with its district, every incident with its region. Matched and unmatched rows come out of separate outputs.

Turns latitude and longitude columns into map points, so a plain spreadsheet can be buffered, measured, joined and drawn. Runs offline with no setup.

Loads a Shapefile, GeoJSON, GeoParquet, FlatGeobuf, GeoPackage or KML as a table, one row per shape. Reads from this machine, and needs internet once to fetch the map extension.

Flattens one nested column: a List of scalars explodes into one row per element, a Struct unnests into one column per field, and a List of Structs explodes and then unnests into one row per element with one column per field. Empty lists and nulls follow Polars' default explode semantics and yield a

Publish your own node Build it in the Node Designer, publish it from there, and it's shared. The guide walks through every step.
Every community node is checked automatically, reviewed by a person, and locked to the exact
version that was reviewed — so what you install is what was read. They are not sandboxed,
though: a node that runs locally can do whatever Flowfile itself can do, and a node running
in a Docker kernel is kept apart with its own dependencies. The source is always one click
away; it's worth a look before you install. Requires Flowfile 0.13.1 or later in
the desktop app, Docker, or pip install flowfile — Flowfile
Lite, the in-browser build, doesn't include community nodes.
